ABOUT 333 PRODUCTIONS LLC

Sharks have fascinated both Joe Romeiro and Bill Fisher since childhood. They each learned to dive as a tool to experience the power and mystery of sharks first hand. After meeting on a shark diving expedition, they teamed up to form 333 Productions and produce films that help aid in the conservation of sharks and the marine environment. They want to use their experiences to help show others that many species of sharks are threatened, and some even face extinction. Joe and Bill portray sharks the way they see them, as beautiful and awe inspiring creatures that are an important and critical element of our oceans eco-system.

Joe and Bill have been guest speakers at numerous events such as The Explorer’s Club-Manhattan, Boston Sea Rovers, Beneath The Sea, Our World Underwater, and their work has been featured in numerous television productions, as well as various print publications.

“We both began diving specifically to interact with sharks. They have that special charisma that we wanted to experience in person. To be able to enter their world and swim among them is a special privilege, and it makes you want to share that with other people. Diving with them also helps change the negative image you always see portrayed. It’s hard to deny the powerful attraction of sharks, and even harder to try and change the negative attitudes so many people have about them, but once you get to experience sharks in their own world, it’s really quite incredible. The reality is that the sharks we enjoy diving with are in serious trouble due to the pressures of overfishing. Our goal is to show people the beauty of these animals and help spread the message that sharks need protection.”

Growing up in and around the water, Joe Romeiro developed a love for the ocean at a young age. After seeing his first shark when he was just 5 years old, he has been captivated by them ever since. A self-taught filmmaker, Joe founded 333 Productions in 2007 with fellow producer & shark conservationist Bill Fisher. Since then, 333 Productions has produced several award-winning films, including “Silent Requiem”, "Death of A Deity", "A Lateral Line" and "Shark Culture".

333 Productions has received numerous awards for their work, including the prestigious Blue Ocean Film Fest's "Emerging Underwater Filmmaker Award" and "Best New Cinema," the ADEX “Underwater Video Of The Year Award," Ocean Geographic’s Award for “Conservation Excellence," Wildlife Conservation Film Festivals Award for “Education”, Beneath The Waves “Best In Cinematography," and many others.

Other notable achievements: 333 Productions received the “Ocean Inspiration Award” from a panel of esteemed judges and industry professionals in a competition sponsored by Celine Cousteau. The video honored the life of her Grandfather, Jacques Cousteau.

In 2012, Joe made his debut appearance on Discovery Channel’s SHARKWEEK, appearing in “How JAWS Changed The World” as on-camera talent, as well as underwater cinematographer for the episode.

Also in 2012, 333 Productions was asked by Shark Savers conservation organization to collaborate on a video tribute to the late Peter Benchley, author of JAWS. It combined Joe’s mesmerizing footage of Great White sharks, along with the words and conservation message of Peter Benchley.

As 333 Productions continue their quest to travel the world capturing images of sharks in ways that no one else has, they continue their mission: to help protect sharks by educating & dispelling the myths surrounding them.

Joe Romeiro is a member of the Explorers Club, his cinematography has been featured on Discovery Networks, National Geographic, Sharkweek, Fox, and various other productions and programs.

Bill Fisher is 333 Productions Executive Producer. His love of sharks grew from the books of Jacques Cousteau and Eugenie Clark, and later the movie JAWS. After seeing a VHS bootleg of the movie some years after its release, he was hooked on sharks.

While visiting Grand Cayman island, Bill swam with his very first shark, and, as they say, the rest is history. He quickly learned to scuba dive and began going on any shark adventure he could manage. After meeting Joe Romeiro on a shark expedition in 2006, the two went on to form 333 Productions shortly after.

Combining Bill’s production background, and Joe’s cinematography skills, they began making films about sharks and the underwater world they had been experiencing. 333 Productions quickly made a name for themselves receiving numerous awards and recognition for their efforts. They began speaking at Dive shows and film fests around the country. Its been a dream come true to show their work alongside the legends of the underwater world, such as Stan Waterman, Wes Skiles, Howard Hall, Robert Ballard, and many other underwater icons.

As 333 Productions continue their quest to travel the world capturing images of sharks in ways that no one else has, they continue their mission: to help protect sharks by educating & dispelling the myths surrounding them.

Lauren’s passion for sharks and ocean conservation developed during her formative childhood years as she traveled extensively on her family’s boat witnessing the beauty of North America. This dedication led her to earn a B.S. in Marine Biology from the University of Rhode Island in 2016 and a Masters of Oceanography from the University of Rhode Island’s Graduate School of Oceanography in 2017. After graduating, Lauren traveled extensively to Fiji, the Bahamas, South Africa and other exotic destinations where she could pursue different shark research and conservation efforts. As she developed professionally, Lauren pursued photography as a way to break out of academia and educate the public about sharks and the dangers facing their populations today. After meeting Joe Romeiro through working with Rhode Island Shark Diving, Lauren joined 333 Productions as second camera in 2017. Her work has been featured on Discovery Channel's Shark Week, National Geographic and Facebook.
